# Willard Library App vs SlowRead

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Willard Library App at 100% against SlowRead's 22%. Willard Library App also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 4) and ads (none vs shown). SlowRead's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 4.2) and update cadence (every 3 days vs every 5 months). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SlowRead sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $8.39 per 7 days. Willard Library App asks for nothing beyond the download.

SlowRead holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SlowRead has 810 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Willard Library App's written reviews are positive against 22% of SlowRead's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Willard Library App ships an update every 5 months, SlowRead every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 7, 2026 respectively.
