# Ikon Pass vs Downwind Crew

The clearest difference is monetization model: Downwind Crew at free against Ikon Pass's free with in-app purchases. Downwind Crew also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Ikon Pass's advantage is ratings volume (28K vs 3) and update cadence (every 9 days vs monthly). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Downwind Crew holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Ikon Pass has 28K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Ikon Pass ships an update every 9 days, Downwind Crew monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
