# Tri vs Whats

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Tri at none against Whats's 1. Tri also leads on device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.0). Whats's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 4 months). On price and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Whats sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Tri asks for nothing beyond the download.

Tri ships an update every 4 months, Whats every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
