# PrepFE vs Engineering & FE Prep

PrepFE and Engineering & FE Prep both sit at 4.2 stars, but that hides the real split: 75% of PrepFE's written reviews are positive against 62% of Engineering & FE Prep's. Engineering & FE Prep's advantage is ratings volume (192 vs 22) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 13.0). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PrepFE sells 6 one-off in-app purchases and Engineering & FE Prep sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Engineering & FE Prep holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Engineering & FE Prep has 192 ratings behind it against 22, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 75% of PrepFE's written reviews are positive against 62% of Engineering & FE Prep's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

PrepFE ships an update monthly, Engineering & FE Prep every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
