# CSL vs WithMap

The clearest difference is review sentiment: WithMap at 100% against CSL's 60%. WithMap also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 24). CSL's advantage is ratings volume (6.7K vs 6) and rating (4.8 vs 4.5). On price, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CSL sells 21 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per month. WithMap asks for nothing beyond the download.

CSL holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CSL has 6.7K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 60% of CSL's written reviews are positive against 100% of WithMap's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

CSL ships an update every 3 weeks, WithMap monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
