# Skating Skills vs Core by RTI

The clearest difference is monetization model: Skating Skills at free with in-app purchases against Core by RTI's subscription. Skating Skills also leads on ratings volume (41 vs 4) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.6). Core by RTI's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.6). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Skating Skills sells 14 one-off in-app purchases and Core by RTI sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Core by RTI holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Skating Skills has 41 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

Skating Skills ships an update fortnightly, Core by RTI every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
