# Gear for Heroes vs Hunter Evolution

The clearest difference is rating: Gear for Heroes at 4.6 against Hunter Evolution's 4.0. Gear for Heroes also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks). Hunter Evolution's advantage is review sentiment (60% vs 34%). On price, ratings volume, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Gear for Heroes sells 7 one-off in-app purchases and Hunter Evolution sells 12 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Gear for Heroes holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 143 and 49 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 34% of Gear for Heroes's written reviews are positive against 60% of Hunter Evolution's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Gear for Heroes ships an update weekly, Hunter Evolution every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
