# Spiral Roll vs Hook Race!

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Hook Race! at 100% against Spiral Roll's 46%. Hook Race! also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 1) and iOS requirement (10.0 vs 14.0). Spiral Roll's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 3.7) and ratings volume (282K vs 6). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Spiral Roll sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Hook Race! asks for nothing beyond the download.

Spiral Roll holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Spiral Roll has 282K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 46% of Spiral Roll's written reviews are positive against 100% of Hook Race!'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Spiral Roll ships an update every 3 months, Hook Race! every 2 months. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
