# Escalators vs Shortcut Run

The clearest difference is update cadence: Escalators at every 2 weeks against Shortcut Run's every 2 months. Escalators also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 14.0). Shortcut Run's advantage is review sentiment (46% vs 27%) and ratings volume (239K vs 40K). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Escalators sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and Shortcut Run sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Shortcut Run holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Shortcut Run has 239K ratings behind it against 40K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 27% of Escalators's written reviews are positive against 46% of Shortcut Run's.

Escalators ships an update every 2 weeks, Shortcut Run every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
