# iVMS vs Discreet

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: iVMS at none against Discreet's 1. iVMS also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.4) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 15.6). Discreet's advantage is ratings volume (2.1K vs 75) and update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Discreet sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. iVMS asks for nothing beyond the download.

iVMS holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Discreet has 2.1K ratings behind it against 75, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of iVMS's written reviews are positive against 56% of Discreet's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

iVMS ships an update every 2 months, Discreet every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
