# BBQ vs UGPhoto Backup

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: BBQ at none against UGPhoto Backup's 3. BBQ also leads on update cadence (weekly vs fortnightly) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. UGPhoto Backup sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. BBQ asks for nothing beyond the download.

BBQ ships an update weekly, UGPhoto Backup fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
