# FileUnzip vs 7

The clearest difference is rating: FileUnzip at 5.0 against 7's 4.3. FileUnzip also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and review sentiment (100% vs 83%). 7's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 9 months). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FileUnzip sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 6 months and 7 sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

FileUnzip holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: 7 has 95 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 100% of FileUnzip's written reviews are positive against 83% of 7's.

FileUnzip ships an update every 9 months, 7 every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 7, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
