# VDIT vs Typecast

The clearest difference is review sentiment: VDIT at 88% against Typecast's 41%. VDIT also leads on rating (4.8 vs 3.3) and ratings volume (9.8K vs 3). Typecast's advantage is ads (none vs shown). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. VDIT sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and Typecast sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $5.00 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

VDIT holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: VDIT has 9.8K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 88% of VDIT's written reviews are positive against 41% of Typecast's.

VDIT ships an update fortnightly, Typecast weekly. Both last shipped on October 20, 2026.
