# Idle Ghost vs Whirlwind Evolution

The clearest difference is rating: Whirlwind Evolution at 4.8 against Idle Ghost's 3.7. Whirlwind Evolution also leads on ratings volume (5.9K vs 6). Idle Ghost's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 8) and ads (none vs shown). On price, review sentiment and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Whirlwind Evolution sells 8 one-off in-app purchases. Idle Ghost asks for nothing beyond the download.

Whirlwind Evolution holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Whirlwind Evolution has 5.9K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 80% of Idle Ghost's written reviews are positive against 75% of Whirlwind Evolution's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Idle Ghost ships an update every 2 days, Whirlwind Evolution every 11 months. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
