# TextMyLink vs BCC Text

The clearest difference is ads: BCC Text at none against TextMyLink's shown. BCC Text also leads on update cadence (every 10 days vs every 5 weeks) and ratings volume (147 vs 17). TextMyLink's advantage is device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 16.0). On price, rating, review sentiment and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TextMyLink sells 20 one-off in-app purchases and BCC Text sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

TextMyLink holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BCC Text has 147 ratings behind it against 17, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 78% of TextMyLink's written reviews are positive against 71% of BCC Text's.

TextMyLink ships an update every 5 weeks, BCC Text every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
