# The AAEA vs DMESC

The clearest difference is update cadence: DMESC at every 4 months against The AAEA's every 12 months. The AAEA's advantage is iOS requirement (11.0 vs 16.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

The AAEA ships an update every 12 months, DMESC every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
