# NeoTaste vs Appetite

The clearest difference is ads: NeoTaste at none against Appetite's shown. NeoTaste also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.2) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Appetite's advantage is review sentiment (64% vs 41%). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

NeoTaste holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.2. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 67 and 184 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 41% of NeoTaste's written reviews are positive against 64% of Appetite's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

NeoTaste ships an update weekly, Appetite every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
