# NeoTaste vs LAP

The clearest difference is rating: NeoTaste at 4.7 against LAP's 1.8. NeoTaste also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks) and ratings volume (67 vs 5). LAP's advantage is review sentiment (57% vs 41%) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

NeoTaste holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 1.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: NeoTaste has 67 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 41% of NeoTaste's written reviews are positive against 57% of LAP's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

NeoTaste ships an update weekly, LAP every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
