# Help Steps vs MAC+

The clearest difference is rating: MAC+ at 4.8 against Help Steps's 4.2. MAC+ also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 11) and ads (none vs shown). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Help Steps sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. MAC+ asks for nothing beyond the download.

MAC+ holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MAC+ has 502 ratings behind it against 29, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 36% of Help Steps's written reviews are positive against 30% of MAC+'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
