# Higher vs Lite Maps

The clearest difference is ads: Higher at none against Lite Maps's shown. Higher also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). Lite Maps's advantage is ratings volume (161 vs 1). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Higher holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Lite Maps has 161 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
