# Happy Crowd vs Step

The clearest difference is ads: Happy Crowd at none against Step's shown. Happy Crowd also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 15 months) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 13.0). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Happy Crowd ships an update fortnightly, Step every 15 months. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
