# GT Hockey vs RootOn

The clearest difference is ratings volume: GT Hockey at 45 against RootOn's 6. GT Hockey also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.1). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for GT Hockey against 5.0 for RootOn. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GT Hockey has 45 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

GT Hockey ships an update every 3 weeks, RootOn fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
