# 8 Bit Fighters VS vs Pine Hearts

The clearest difference is rating: Pine Hearts at 4.6 against 8 Bit Fighters VS's 3.5. Pine Hearts also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 5 days vs every 2 months). 8 Bit Fighters VS's advantage is review sentiment (89% vs 72%). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. 8 Bit Fighters VS sells 5 one-off in-app purchases and Pine Hearts sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Pine Hearts holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pine Hearts has 103 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 89% of 8 Bit Fighters VS's written reviews are positive against 72% of Pine Hearts's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

8 Bit Fighters VS ships an update every 2 months, Pine Hearts every 5 days. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
