# Elgin Smart vs Xciptv

The clearest difference is ads: Elgin Smart at none against Xciptv's shown. Elgin Smart also leads on monetization model (free vs ad-supported). Xciptv's advantage is ratings volume (749 vs 44). On price, rating, review sentiment and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Elgin Smart holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Xciptv has 749 ratings behind it against 44, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 18% of Elgin Smart's written reviews are positive against 25% of Xciptv's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
