# Hik vs HF SMART VIEW

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: HF SMART VIEW at none against Hik's 9. HF SMART VIEW also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 16.0). Hik's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 10 months) and rating (4.8 vs 4.5). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Hik sells 7 one-off in-app purchases. HF SMART VIEW asks for nothing beyond the download.

Hik holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hik has 1.1K ratings behind it against 28, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Hik ships an update fortnightly, HF SMART VIEW every 10 months. The most recent releases landed on November 7, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
