# Hik vs Guarding Master

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Guarding Master at none against Hik's 9. Guarding Master also leads on iOS requirement (14.0 vs 16.0). Hik's advantage is ratings volume (1.1K vs 13) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Hik sells 7 one-off in-app purchases. Guarding Master asks for nothing beyond the download.

Guarding Master holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hik has 1.1K ratings behind it against 13, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Hik ships an update fortnightly, Guarding Master every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
