# Fastned vs M

The clearest difference is rating: Fastned at 4.8 against M's 2.0. Fastned also leads on ratings volume (40 vs 2) and update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks). M's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Fastned holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Fastned has 40 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 66% and 67% positive.

Fastned ships an update weekly, M every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
