# Elf VPN vs VPN Fastway

The clearest difference is rating: VPN Fastway at 4.8 against Elf VPN's 2.4. VPN Fastway also leads on ratings volume (58 vs 8). Elf VPN's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ads (none vs shown). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Elf VPN sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and VPN Fastway sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

VPN Fastway holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 2.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: VPN Fastway has 58 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Elf VPN's written reviews are positive against 25% of VPN Fastway's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Elf VPN ships an update every 5 weeks, VPN Fastway every 10 months. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
