# Empower Driver vs Epic Rides

The clearest difference is rating: Empower Driver at 4.6 against Epic Rides's 4.1. Empower Driver also leads on ratings volume (2.8K vs 47) and chart position (#85 vs unranked). Epic Rides's advantage is update cadence (every 5 days vs fortnightly) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Empower Driver holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Empower Driver has 2.8K ratings behind it against 47, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 61% of Empower Driver's written reviews are positive against 67% of Epic Rides's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Empower Driver ships an update fortnightly, Epic Rides every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
