# MP4 Maker vs Files by WALTR

The clearest difference is rating: MP4 Maker at 4.6 against Files by WALTR's 2.5. MP4 Maker also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (2.4K vs 24). Files by WALTR's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and review sentiment (40% vs 26%). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MP4 Maker sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Files by WALTR asks for nothing beyond the download.

MP4 Maker holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 2.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MP4 Maker has 2.4K ratings behind it against 24, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 26% of MP4 Maker's written reviews are positive against 40% of Files by WALTR's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

MP4 Maker ships an update weekly, Files by WALTR every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
