# MP4 Maker vs Converter

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Converter at none against MP4 Maker's 1. MP4 Maker's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (2.4K vs 24). On price, rating, update cadence and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MP4 Maker sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Converter asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for MP4 Maker against 4.6 for Converter. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MP4 Maker has 2.4K ratings behind it against 24, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
