# MP4 Maker vs Iron

MP4 Maker and Iron are too close to call on the numbers: across 6 compared parameters — price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases among them — neither pulls far enough ahead to decide it. What separates them is feature set and interface, not measurable difference.

Both are free to download. MP4 Maker sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Iron sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

MP4 Maker ships an update weekly, Iron every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
