# LaTeX Editor Tex Pro vs scri+

The clearest difference is ratings volume: LaTeX Editor Tex Pro at 1.7K against scri+'s 1. LaTeX Editor Tex Pro also leads on update cadence (every 2 months vs every 4 months). scri+'s advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and monetization model (freemium vs paid). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. LaTeX Editor Tex Pro sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and scri+ sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

scri+ holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: LaTeX Editor Tex Pro has 1.7K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

LaTeX Editor Tex Pro ships an update every 2 months, scri+ every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
