# VPN 7 vs Secure VPN

The clearest difference is rating: Secure VPN at 4.4 against VPN 7's 3.9. Secure VPN also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 6 weeks) and ratings volume (409 vs 19). VPN 7's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 82%) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 14.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. VPN 7 sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $9.49 per month and Secure VPN sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Secure VPN holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Secure VPN has 409 ratings behind it against 19, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of VPN 7's written reviews are positive against 82% of Secure VPN's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

VPN 7 ships an update every 6 weeks, Secure VPN weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
