# TAOR vs Perigold

The clearest difference is monetization model: TAOR at free against Perigold's free with in-app purchases. TAOR also leads on iOS requirement (11.0 vs 18.0). Perigold's advantage is ratings volume (8K vs 1) and update cadence (weekly vs monthly). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for TAOR against 4.9 for Perigold. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Perigold has 8K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

TAOR ships an update monthly, Perigold weekly. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
