# QRBarcode vs ACT

The clearest difference is ads: ACT at none against QRBarcode's shown. ACT also leads on update cadence (every 2 months vs every 16 months) and iOS requirement (12.4 vs 16.0). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

QRBarcode ships an update every 16 months, ACT every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
