# NewPassword! vs Phone Security

The clearest difference is rating: Phone Security at 4.6 against NewPassword!'s 3.7. Phone Security also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 8 months) and ratings volume (3.3K vs 7). NewPassword!'s advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 64%) and in-app purchases (none vs 10). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Phone Security sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days. NewPassword! asks for nothing beyond the download.

Phone Security holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Phone Security has 3.3K ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of NewPassword!'s written reviews are positive against 64% of Phone Security's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

NewPassword! ships an update every 8 months, Phone Security every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
