# Official CLEP Exam Guide App vs Smart CDL

The clearest difference is rating: Smart CDL at 5.0 against Official CLEP Exam Guide App's 2.7. Smart CDL also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs every 6 weeks). Official CLEP Exam Guide App's advantage is ratings volume (131 vs 1) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Official CLEP Exam Guide App sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and Smart CDL sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Smart CDL holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 2.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Official CLEP Exam Guide App has 131 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Official CLEP Exam Guide App ships an update every 6 weeks, Smart CDL every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
