# Shaghlaty vs Elixir

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Shaghlaty at 77% against Elixir's 41%. Elixir's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 6 days vs every 3 weeks). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Elixir holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Elixir has 1.5K ratings behind it against 185, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 77% of Shaghlaty's written reviews are positive against 41% of Elixir's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Shaghlaty ships an update every 3 weeks, Elixir every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
