# Charlotte's vs Sweet Dots

The clearest difference is update cadence: Charlotte's at every 6 months against Sweet Dots's every 14 months. Sweet Dots's advantage is ratings volume (5 vs 1) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.1). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Charlotte's against 5.0 for Sweet Dots. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sweet Dots has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Charlotte's ships an update every 6 months, Sweet Dots every 14 months. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and September 26, 2026 respectively.
