# RostamVPN vs ShadowShare

The clearest difference is monetization model: ShadowShare at free with in-app purchases against RostamVPN's subscription. ShadowShare also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.3). RostamVPN's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (4.7K vs 371). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. RostamVPN sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and ShadowShare sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ShadowShare holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: RostamVPN has 4.7K ratings behind it against 371, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 66% of RostamVPN's written reviews are positive against 60% of ShadowShare's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

RostamVPN ships an update every 2 months, ShadowShare every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
