# Translator* vs Keyboard Translator

The clearest difference is monetization model: Keyboard Translator at free with in-app purchases against Translator*'s subscription. Keyboard Translator also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs every 5 months) and iOS requirement (11.1 vs 16.0). Translator*'s advantage is review sentiment (49% vs 12%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Translator* sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days and Keyboard Translator sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
