# Translator* vs iTranslate Keyboard

The clearest difference is rating: Translator* at 4.4 against iTranslate Keyboard's 3.2. Translator* also leads on review sentiment (49% vs 25%) and ratings volume (2.8K vs 104). iTranslate Keyboard's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 5 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Translator* sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days and iTranslate Keyboard sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Translator* holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Translator* has 2.8K ratings behind it against 104, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 49% of Translator*'s written reviews are positive against 25% of iTranslate Keyboard's.

Translator* ships an update every 5 months, iTranslate Keyboard every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
