# Fable vs ChapterBite

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: ChapterBite at none against Fable's 108. ChapterBite also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). Fable's advantage is ratings volume (82K vs 1) and update cadence (every 6 days vs every 2 weeks). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Fable sells 108 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. ChapterBite asks for nothing beyond the download.

ChapterBite holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Fable has 82K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Fable ships an update every 6 days, ChapterBite every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
