# Professional Barometer vs Torr

The clearest difference is update cadence: Torr at every 5 days against Professional Barometer's every 42 months. Torr also leads on rating (4.4 vs 4.1) and ratings volume (181 vs 16). Professional Barometer's advantage is monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Professional Barometer sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Torr sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Torr holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Torr has 181 ratings behind it against 16, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 45% of Professional Barometer's written reviews are positive against 57% of Torr's.

Professional Barometer ships an update every 42 months, Torr every 5 days. Both last shipped on October 25, 2026.
