# Plant Identification ++ vs Plantera

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Plantera at none against Plant Identification ++'s 3. Plantera also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6). Plant Identification ++'s advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 9 months) and ratings volume (31K vs 1). On price, ads, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Plant Identification ++ sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Plantera asks for nothing beyond the download.

Plantera holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Plant Identification ++ has 31K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
