# Plant Identification ++ vs Grass Identifier

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Plant Identification ++ at 31K against Grass Identifier's 8. Plant Identification ++ also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). Grass Identifier's advantage is rating (4.9 vs 4.6). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Plant Identification ++ sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and Grass Identifier sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Grass Identifier holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Plant Identification ++ has 31K ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
