# FocusCommit vs focus

FocusCommit and focus both sit at 4.1 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of focus's written reviews are positive against 50% of FocusCommit's. focus also leads on update cadence (every 8 days vs every 3 weeks). FocusCommit's advantage is ratings volume (19 vs 1). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FocusCommit sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and focus sells 5 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.1 for FocusCommit against 4.0 for focus. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FocusCommit has 19 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 50% of FocusCommit's written reviews are positive against 100% of focus's.

FocusCommit ships an update every 3 weeks, focus every 8 days. The most recent releases landed on September 30, 2026 and September 13, 2026 respectively.
