# YDReader vs 简阅

The clearest difference is rating: YDReader at 4.6 against 简阅's 4.0. YDReader also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (56 vs 4). 简阅's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 2) and review sentiment (100% vs 87%). On price, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. YDReader sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. 简阅 asks for nothing beyond the download.

YDReader holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: YDReader has 56 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 87% of YDReader's written reviews are positive against 100% of 简阅's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

YDReader ships an update fortnightly, 简阅 monthly. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
