# VPN vs Nive

VPN and Nive both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 78% of Nive's written reviews are positive against 38% of VPN's. VPN's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and update cadence (weekly vs monthly). On price, rating, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. VPN sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days and Nive sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for VPN against 4.5 for Nive. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 1.3K and 2.2K respectively. Written reviews are what separate them: 38% of VPN's written reviews are positive against 78% of Nive's.

VPN ships an update weekly, Nive monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
